Before his insurance career, Mak was a Captain in the Marine Corps, where he served as an aviation maintenance officer, aerial gunner, and recruiting officer. He maintains IRMI Certifications as a Transportation Risk Insurance Professional, Construction Risk Insurance Specialist, and an Energy Risk Insurance Specialist.
