OTA Institute: DOT Reasonable Suspicion Virtual Training

The OTA is hosting a DOT Reasonable Suspicion Training on Wednesday, January 17 from 10am - 12pm. This virtual training is designed for supervisors and employees to gain confidence regarding their reasonable suspicion testing responsibilities and help keep impaired drivers off the road.

Led by Ruth Bowdish, Managing Director of On Demand Healthcare, this two-hour training course is divided into sixty minutes of in-depth training on alcohol misuse and another sixty minutes focusing on controlled substance abuse.

Key Highlights:

  • Learn to recognize indicators of probable alcohol misuse and controlled substance abuse.
  • Fulfill the 49 CFR Part 40 Section 382.603 training requirements for supervisors.
  • Understand the criteria outlined in 49 CFR Part 40 Section 382.307 to determine reasonable suspicion for testing drivers.

At the conclusion of the training, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion, acknowledging their commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Important Notes:

  • Attendance during the live session is mandatory for all participants.
  • Recording or distribution of remote training sessions is strictly prohibited.

Meet the Trainer:

Ruth Bowdish is currently the Managing Director for On Demand Healthcare, a published author and successful life coach. After earning her master’s degree in psychology, she became a certified employee assistance professional, a substance abuse professional and is currently a licensed independent chemical dependency counselor. She has over two decades of experience working within the occupational health and safety industry. Ruth started out as on-site drug screen collector traveling from business to business promoting safe workplaces. Soon she recognized a need to help those battling addiction and continued her education to become an addiction counselor. Ruth began to help individuals gain the skills needed to find strength and move forward. Ruth began to establish a unique foundation of safety compliance, employee motivation, and addiction awareness. Eventually, using her experience and knowledge, Ruth moved into the role of a nationwide consultant, trainer and speaker. As a consultant, Ruth has provided invaluable information to create strong teams with strong leaders. As a Substance Abuse Professional, she has provided a deeper understanding of addiction and drugs in the workplace and as a counselor and coach, she has provided guidance to navigating personal difficulties that are holding people back from being the success stories they can be. She has brought her knowledge and passion to conferences and industries across the country to help increase awareness and understanding on some of the toughest topics plaguing our society today.

  • You will receive a 100% refund if you cancel more than 10 days before the training.
  • You will receive a 75% refund if you cancel more than 3 days before the training.
  • You will receive no refund if you cancel less than 3 days before the training.
  • No shows will be responsible to pay 100% of the registration fee.
