Federal law requires all commercial motor vehicles pass a periodic (annual) inspection. This two-day course, led by Motor Carrier Enforcement Supervisor Brandon Evans, will provide a comprehensive understanding of the rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to commercial motor vehicle inspections and the procedures in performing a safe and effective vehicle inspection.
This hands-on course has been developed to meet the requirements of FMCSR 396.19 and will include the following topics:
Participants should have at least one-year of experience as a mechanic or CMV maintenance personnel from a motor carrier maintenance program or commercial garage. All attendees will receive the FMCSR manual, CVSA Out of Service Criteria manual, and other course material. With the passage of a short written exam, attendees will also receive a Certificate of Completion.

About the Trainer:
The training will be led by Motor Carrier Enforcement Supervisor Brandon Evans with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Evans is stationed out of the Piqua District and began his career with the patrol in 2012 as a dispatcher. He was quickly promoted to a Motor Carrier Enforcement Inspector in 2012 and in 2014 was nominated as Inspector of the Year.
