In accordance with federal law, all commercial motor vehicles are required to undergo periodic (annual) inspections. Join us for a two-day course led by Motor Carrier Enforcement Supervisor Brandon Evans and gain an in-depth understanding of the rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to commercial motor vehicle inspections.
This hands-on course has been developed to meet the requirements of FMCSR 396.19 and will include the following topics:
- Comprehensive coverage of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation manual
- Thorough examination of inspection criteria as per 49 CFR Part 393
- In-depth analysis of inspection criteria outlined in 49 CFR Appendix G
- Comparison of Appendix G with roadside inspection criteria
- Understanding the disparities between Appendix G and the CVSA Out of Service criteria
- Familiarization with identifying defective components
- Detailed insights into criteria specified in 49 CFR Part 396
- A systematic and efficient inspection procedure
Participants should possess at least one year of experience as a mechanic or CMV maintenance personnel within a motor carrier maintenance program or commercial garage. As a participant, you will receive valuable resources, including the FMCSR manual, CVSA Out of Service Criteria manual, and other course materials. You will also receive a Certificate of Completion upon successfully passing a short written exam.

About the Trainer:
The training will be led by Motor Carrier Enforcement Supervisor Brandon Evans with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Evans is stationed out of Central Ohio and began his career with the patrol in 2012 as a dispatcher. He was quickly promoted to a Motor Carrier Enforcement Inspector in 2012 and in 2014 was nominated as Inspector of the Year.

- You will receive a 75% refund if you cancel more than 3 days before the training.
- You will receive no refund if you cancel less than 3 days before the training.
