This online-only event promises to be an informative and engaging experience, featuring high-level speakers discussing two timely and impactful topics as you plan for 2024.

Session 1: Economic & Industry Update - Lindsay Bur and Emily Clayton with the American Trucking Associations will provide an in-depth update on the economy and the trucking freight market. They will highlight the most important economic trends for truck freight, as well as trends in the labor market. They will also provide economic forecasts for 2024 and beyond.

Session 2: The 12 Traits of Highly Profitable Trucking Companies – Chris Henry, COO with KSM Transport Advisors (KSMTA), will share 12 key traits he and his colleagues have observed from their work with over 200 trucking companies of varying size, mode, and operating models. These observations were made as a byproduct of their work assisting trucking company leaders in understanding their freight network and determining strategies to improve the density, velocity, and ultimately the profitability of freight in the geography in which they operate.

The price to attend this educational event is $29 for OTA members and $59 for non-members.

About the Speakers:
Lindsay Bur is a Senior Economic Analyst with the American Trucking Associations, reporting directly to the Chief Economist, Bob Costello. Since joining ATA in 2021, Lindsay has spearheaded the collection and analysis of economic data as it relates to the trucking industry. She authored ATA’s 2022 Driver Compensation Study, a comprehensive evaluation and assessment of how fleets pay their drivers. Prior to joining ATA, she graduated from The University of Virginia with a bachelor’s in economics and a minor in statistical analysis.

Emily Clayton is an Economic Analyst with American Trucking Associations, the leading trade association for the trucking industry, reporting directly to the Chief Economist, Bob Costello. Since joining ATA in 2022, Emily has worked on macroeconomic issues impacting the trucking industry, as well as industry research activities. Prior to joining ATA, she graduated from American University with a master's degree in Applied Economics.

Chris Henry is chief operating officer for KSM Transport Advisors, LLC (KSMTA) and KSMTA Canada. Chris has spent his entire 20+ year career serving the trucking industry, helping carriers and transportation companies identify and target areas for potential improvement in order to increase profitability. He is well-known as the co-founder and former leader of StakUp, the developer of an online motor carrier benchmarking platform which quickly became the trucking industry’s largest source of carrier financial and operational benchmark data.
